Teams of conservationists and scientists are going out in the field to deploy drones with the high-tech-infrared cameras attached, and developing software that can detect different types of animals in various landscapes and climates. Wildlife guards have a difficult time spotting animals at night when poachers are most likely to strike. But on infrared cameras, they’re impossible to miss.
