If you happen to peek into social media in the past few days, you’ll surely come across comments that actor Henry Cavill will be Wolverine in the new Marvel Studios movies.

As expected, the news has spread like wildfire. Some say he does not deserve the role, others that it’s “betraying” DC Comics and Warner Bros. because he plays Superman in the DC Cinematic Universe.

The latter does not make sense, because an actor goes where he gets paid. Besides, it’s not like he has something to do for now. His biggest project right is forming part of the cast from The Witcher, playing Geralt of Rivia.

This series is scheduled to be released this year and is an exclusive from Netflix. As for the cinema, because the last film we knew he was involved in was Nomis, which premiered in September of last year.

Now, after carefully examining the rumor, we are somewhat disconcerted. It looks like it started running about a couple of days ago.

Since then, several media say that “there are strong rumors.” It is understood that Marvel Studios is auditioning Henry Cavill and rooting for him to participate as Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

There is no recognized means supporting these statements. In fact, even in Reddit, an inexhaustible source of unofficial information, we find something more or less solid.

We get the impression that someone said something and all the other sites reported it as real, although without foundation. And without even doing a simple search on the Internet to see what’s behind it.

Could Henry Cavill play Wolverine? He is 36 years old, so it is not impossible. But Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, hinted that they do not plan to hire any X-Men for at least five years.

They have several projects that do not require their intervention. Unless they intend to introduce this character before all others, this rumor collapses like a house of cards.
