The team behind the independent film Night House, which was a hit at Sundance will take over the reimagining of Pinhead.
The company Spyglass Media, who are already preparing the next movie for the Scream franchise, had planned a reboot of the horror classic since last year.
THR now informed that David Bruckner, director of the independent hit Night House, and who also participated in the V / H / Santhology, will be in charge of directing the planned reimagined version of Hellraiser.
The script will be formulated by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, who have already collaborated with Bruckner on Night House and who also have productions such as Super Dark Times and SiREN in their filmography.
During the past year, it was reported that David S. Goyer ( Blade II, Blade Trinity, Batman Begins, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ) was writing “a loyal and evolved reimagination.”
The original Hellraiser has given rise to multiple sequels since its premiere in the 1980s, with each film placing more emphasis on the Cenobites, but none has risen to the level of the original written and directed by Clive Barker, who made it from his own novel.
