Warner Bros announced that Tom Ascheim, former Director of classic, kids and young adults productions, will be the new Director to manage the Wizarding Universe of Harry Potter.

Ann Sarnoff, president of WarnerMedia Studios, made official the nomination of Ascheim as director of the Harry Potter franchise. His duties will be to oversee the “Wizarding World” license that includes theme parks, theme tours and the production of films from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts universe.

Ascheim will also strive to enhance the content related to the Wizarding World property, as well as being the primary representative for WarnerMedia in its relationship with creator JK Rowling, and her representatives to exploit the series through emerging opportunities and existing businesses.

While Disney expands the Star Wars and Marvel universe into series for Disney+, Warner Bros seems to be lagging, but not for long as Deadline reports, HBO Max will be the perfect place to create a Harry Potter spinoff series.
