No castles, no flowers, much less a princess. A girl from Nuevo León, Mexico, surprised Facebook users by celebrating her birthday with a themed party from The Nun,” a popular horror film that premiered in mid-2018.

On June 4, 2019, Laura E. Brown, mother of Lucia spread several photographs of the celebration on her Facebook account. In the text, she explained that her daughter wanted to celebrate her 3rd birthday dressed as the main character of her favorite horror movie, ‘The Nun.” In the film, starring actress Taissa Farmiga and actor Demián Bichir, the diabolical entity Valak seizes and murders the nuns of a Romanian monastery. “Like when your daughter turns 3 and her favorite character is The Nun. Anything to see her happy!” Said her mother on her Facebook account.

The post was shared more than 52,000 up to this Tuesday, June 11. It shows the girl with a serious look, attached to the character she is playing. Next to her is a scale version of Valak, full of sweets and treats for the guests of the party that was celebrated in the house of her maternal grandmother. The birthday cake is a little more graphic. In the center, rests the complete image of Valak and with red letters, the name of the girl: Lucia. The choice of the little one not only went viral, but it actually reached the actress Bonnie Aarons, who plays Valak. On her Instagram account, the interpreter posted Lucia’s party and told her: “I LOVE U & I’m Freaking out! Happiest of birthdays to Lucia.”

The mother says, in a comment that she posted, that her daughter saw the movie at her mother- in- law’s house. There, she says, she became a fan of the film, because the images and sounds caught her attention. Although the little girl stayed dressed as the character, a video published by her mother shows the little ‘actress’ laughing wholesomely, enjoying her birthday.
