The Star Wars universe seems to be going through a new phase, since during Disney Investor Day projects the Mouse Company has for this franchise for the following years were announced, ranging from live-action series, animated series, and movies, but one of the aspects that surprised the most was the announcement of Patty Jenkins in the director’s chair of one of these productions. And apparently, this director wants to replicate the success she had with DC, in a Star Wars film, furthermore, she’s bringing along her close friend, actress Gal Gadot for ‘Rogue Squadron.

Director Patty Jenkins is the one who formulated Wonder Woman, as she directed the first solo film with great results, which led to her to being in charge of a sequel, ‘Wonder Woman 1984’, hitting theaters and the HBO Max platform in the following days. She has become a renowned director and so it is not surprising that Disney has hired her for the video game adaptation by the same name.

According to film insider Daniel Richtman, we will see Gal Gadot in ‘Rogue Squadron’, since the director wants the interpreter of Diana Prince in her film, along with, possibly Chris Pine. The actors have exhibited great chemistry on screen and she has experience working with both performers, which could be very beneficial for the franchise.

Although the arrival of Gal Gadot sounds like a tremendous addition, Chris Pine’s could be a problem, since the actor has participated in the Star Trek reboot, as he gave life to Captain Kirk alongside great performers like Zoe Saldana. Hence, Disney may have reservations about incorporating this actor, considering he is part of the “competition,” of the galaxy far, far away.
