The famous cat and mouse who, for generations had fun due to the enmity that eventually falls into chaos. This new film combines 2D animation scenes and live actors.
The duo first appeared in the small screen in the 1940s on the series by the same name. Tom, a cat who tries to catch Jerry, a cunning brown mouse, to try and please his owner.
These two characters are almost 80 years old and will finally have their first Live-Action film combined with animation for the first time, adding to the nostalgic trend that Hollywood has implemented for several years to attract audiences of all ages. For example, “The Smurfs” which was a great success or “Yogi Bear” which for the fans was a great disappointment.
So, to avoid failure, director Tim Story chose to keep the essence of the classic cartoons in animation form, and combine it with celebrities of today’s cinema to attract the attention of a more demanding public.
According to the summary of the trailer for “Tom and Jerry”, Jerry moves into the best hotel in New York City on the eve of ‘the wedding of the century’, forcing the desperate wedding planner to hire Tom to get rid of him. The next battle between the cat and the mouse threatens to destroy his career, the wedding and possibly the hotel itself. But soon, an even bigger problem arises: a diabolically ambitious staff member conspiring against all three.
The film will star Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Peña, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost and Ken Jeong; While its theatrical release is scheduled for 2021.
