After Marvel announced that a Fantastic Four reboot is in the works, rumors began to circulate concerning Giancarlo Esposito’s involvement in the project.

Following the big announcement from Marvel Studios, Fantastic Four fans are eager to see this reboot on the way. Disney acquired Fox last year and thus, was able to regain the film rights to these characters. Now that they are within the companies clutches, we simply have to wait until this film hits theaters. As a result of this news, rumors began to emerge and Giancarlo Esposito stars in one of them.

For a long time, The Fantastic Four were movie licensed under the Fox name, a studio that managed to produce several major hits and one outrageous failure about these superheroes. After a while, Disney finally managed to obtain the rights and scheme a reboot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following this, the USA Online Sportsbooks and Express site have reported on the possibility of Giancarlo Esposito becoming the next MCU’s Doctor Doom.

These portals mention that Giancarlo Esposito, famous for being a part of Breaking Bad, The Boys, and The Mandalorian, has great chances to play Doctor Doom. He is the arch-enemy of The Fantastic Four which we have often read about in the comics and seen in the film adaptations.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Giancarlo spoke about being part of the MCU as he said:

“I haven’t created any of those rumours, but I worked years ago with Louis D’Esposito, who’s one of the guys at Marvel, back when he was doing Cotton Club and I was doing Cotton Club, he was the First AD. What they do is fantastic, and I want to do something enduring with them… I think the Marvel world would be, likely, the next step for me…”

Alternatively, Michael Fassbender and Viggo Mortensen have also been mentioned in line for the role.

In some media discussions, rumors mentioned other important characters from the Marvel world that could end up being played by Esposito, however, they did not reveal any details about additional actors that will be part of the actual cast. Although the reboot of The Fantastic Four was confirmed a week ago, which took all fans by surprise, we will have to wait a long time to know some details or have news about this new movie from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
