Marvel already seems to be thinking about it’s next big move, and Emma Watson, an actress who gained fame with her leading role in Harry Potter, could be part of these ambitious plans.

After the emblematic saga, The Avengers and the first screen appearance from Captain Marvel, the production company owned by Disney announced the production of six more films among which the title of Black Widow stands out.

While Black Widow has been there since the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, little is known about her past and the in-depth story about this character. With the delivery of her own movie, whose production will begin in June of this year, it is expected to close those gaps.

This film could be released during May of 2020, but the really intriguing thing is that Marvel seems to be interested in signing Emma Watson to give life to a female spy who will occupy a co-leading role.

Information published by The Hashtag Show site, indicates that the studio is considering a series of actresses to share credits with Scarlett Johansson, where Emma Watson leads the list followed by other well-known figures such as Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures), Dar Zuzovsky ( Hostages) and Florence Pugh (Fighting With my Family).

The role was originally for an actress in the range of 30-39 years; however, the list presented indicates a willingness on the part of the producer to expand its search to find the right woman for the job and, if it is to give strength to the film by choosing the distribution as part of a marketing strategy, Watson could be a great option.

Her career at the box office, beyond the successful saga as a student magician, has shown that the image of Watson sells, at least in the eyes of Disney. According to Box Office Mojo, Emma Watson with her leading role in “Beauty and the Beast” swept the box office. The film earned more than 1 billion dollars, which properly ranked it as the highest grossing film of 2017, surpassing similar popular films such as “Fast and Furious 8“.

In that year the Marvel productions managed to enter the top 10 with other films which included “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” achieving a fifth place earning 863.6 million dollars, while the sixth was awarded to “Thor: Ragnarok” with 833.7 million dollars.

The interesting thing is that having Watson join the world of superheroes could bring in a lot of revenue for Marvel. If we consider what she helped accomplish as the lead actress in charge of portraying Belle in the Disney classic, Beauty & The Beast.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, for this performance, Emma Watson received $3 million in advance, that is, before the film was released. The agreement also indicated that if the film was to be a blockbuster, the young actress would receive 12 million dollars more, which amounted to a total of 15 million dollars.

For the critics, this amount was precarious, since it was compared to the 40 million dollars given to Robert Downey Jr. for his performance in “Captain America: Civil War.”

The truth is that there are many Emma Watson fans, and the use of her image in a film which, at the forefront, might not be as popular as The Avengers, could have a great marketing success in providing onset momentum to the film.
