The fifth installment of Indiana Jones, will finally arrive in theaters on July 9, 2021, two years after the date originally scheduled.
Disney confirmed, through a statement, that shooting of this production will not begin yet, director of the movie Steven Spielberg will feature Harrison Ford in the lead role.
Recordings of the film, which were due to start in April of next year, were suddenly postponed. Sources close to the production told Variety magazine that the problem lay in the script of the story.
In fact, website Collider said that Jonathan Kasdan, son of Lawrence Kasdan, screenwriter of In Search of the Lost Ark (1981), the first installment of Indiana Jones, had been hired to produce a new booklet.
David Koepp, author of the previous installment of the saga, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), was commissioned to write the original script of this fifth title.
Disney also announced other changes to its calendar. Jungle Cruise, starring Dwayne Johnson, will hit the charts on October 11, 2019. While Maleficent 2 will be back with Angelina Jolie, it will premiere on May 29, 2020.
