The superhero genera in the cinema world is currently in an expansion phase, both on the side of Marvel Studios and DC. They will be looking to bring more characters, and in the case of DC it is not only looking to revive the DCEU, but also a series for its platform HBO Max. In addition to independent films, one of the most favorited characters will have a relatively different restart and apparently Taron Egerton is in sights to be Constantine for a solo movie.

The character of Constantine first appeared in 1984 in the ‘Swamp Thing’ comic, he later starred in his own stories in the graphic novels of ‘Hellblazer’ and had a film adaptation in 2005 starring Keanu Reeves. Despite shifting away from the comic versions, Constantine continues to have a large number of followers to this day.

Presumed media sources close to Warner and DC affirm that Taron Egerton will be Constantine for a solo film that is being readied, which will not be within the DCEU.

If these new films are confirmed, there will be several Constantine versions going on at the same time, since there is one from the Arrowverse played by Matt Ryan, HBO Max is preparing a ‘Justice League Dark’ series with another, and according to DC, the version with Keanu Reeves is the one that belongs in the DCEU, that’s four personifications of the same character.

We are still hoping that ‘The Flash: Flashpoint’ will either fix or merge all of these DC movies and series in some spectacular way. Restoring DC to it’s glory days should be the utmost priority for Warner Bros.
