Before passing away, Carrie Fisher had time to record the eighth film of the saga, Star Wars : The Last Jedi, which was released last December. However, for the filming of the ninth installment, the Lucasfilm team will have to deal with the remarkable loss of Princess Leia.

Despite her sudden death, the brother of the actress, Todd Fisher, has assured that Carrie Fisher will appear in the ninth film.

According to the Hollywood Reporter , the Fisher family have given permission to Lucasfilm to use recent footage of the actress, so that the famous princess can make an appearance. “People deserve to have Leia in the movie,” said her brother.

The rumors indicated that the character of Carrie Fisher was going to play an important role in the last film, but due to her death the fans of the saga began to speculate that they were going to recreate her digitally for the film.

To disprove this, Disney published a statement in which it was reported that they did not intend to recreate Fisher digitally, unlike in Rogue One: a Star Wars story , in which digitalisation was used to give life to Princess Leia.

The various speculations generated around the now deceased Fisher have been used by her brother to announce that he intends to publish a series of stories that he and his sister wrote together: “Carrie and I wrote some things together.”

Returning, also to Star Wars IX is, Mark Hamill, and Anthony Daniels as C-3PO.
