Currently, more than 50,500,000 cases of patients with COVID-19 (also known by the scientific name of SARS-CoV-2 ) have been identified worldwide. Scientists around the world have been working hard for just over ten months now to try to create a vaccine against the virus, which recently caused a second wave in many countries around the world. Just yesterday, Pfizer and BioNTech announced that phase 3 of their vaccine against Covid-19 resumes came out great with 90% effectiveness and in the Stock Market shares for chain cinemas like AMC and Cinemark recovered to nearly 50%.

As if the net pandemic was going to go away overnight with the vaccine announcement, CNN reported that AMC’s stock rose 80% (its peak during this hideous year) in premarket trading. While Cinemark, in the US, rose 40%.

Although all of this is extremely good news, Pfizer and BioNtech estimate to supply 50 million doses by the end of this year and 1.3 billion by the end of 2021, therefore, we still have a while to go until we fully recover. At least they have already verified that the vaccine does not turn us into zombies, yet.

Although another aspect to take into account with this news about what Hollywood studios is doing, they are only planning to release the big blockbusters in theaters, while independent films and other movies will go directly to streaming.
