The author of The Witcher, Andrzej Sapkowski, criticized one of the most random scenes of the seventh season of Game of Thrones.

It is surprising that the mockery is not directed to the eighth and final season, which definitely disappointed most of the Game of Thrones fans. The reason why Sapkowski attacked this popular series was because of the appearance of Ed Sheeran in the show:

“I believe that my job as a creative consultant for this series is to make sure that at NO point in the show [will] Ed Sheeran sing. And that I will make sure doesn’t happen. I will make sure.”

These statements were said to a crowd of fans at the Comic Con in Warsaw 2018.

This comment refers to the scene where the British singer appeared as a soldier from the Lannister House. In that episode he is singing in front of a campfire before Arya Stark finds this camp and joins them.

When it aired, even the followers of Game of Thrones complained, stating that there was no need to include it and that it really diverted the attention from main plot of the rest of the episode.

The Witcher series is no stranger to musical prominence, if you have seen it, remember that Jaskier is one of the most important secondary characters and widley loved by the viewers.

Even the songs of the series were highly liked and were very catchy, especially because they were relatively easy to remember.

Sapkowski wanted to make clear The Witcher and what was Game of Thrones have their own unique storylines. They are not particularly similar, and we will probably see fewer guest stars, maybe none, unlike what happened in ‘Game of Thrones’.
