Daniel Craig will say goodbye to James Bond in the next 007 movie. In the search for another actor who can continue with the detective’s story, the first casting process assisted by an artificial intelligence machine chose Henry Cavill to play the character.
The study carried out by Largo.ai used AI software to compare the skills of actors to those of Bond. Thus, the machine would assess which star would have the most positive reactions from the audience.
When the device analyzed British actors, Cavill was chosen with 92.3%. In the likelihood of preference, he is followed by Richard Armitage (92%) and Idris Elba (90.9%).
Nevertheless, when the ENGINE expanded evaluation for international actors, Cavill lost the role to the star of The Boys, Karl Urban, who lead with 96.7%. After him comes Chris Evans (93.9%) and Will Smith (92.2%).
The system also analyzed actresses. To play the secret agent, Gina Carano, from The Mandalorian, was in the first position with 97.3%. She is followed by Katee Sackhoff (94.4%) and Angelina Jolie (94.2%).
007 – No Time to Die will have Daniel Craig as James Bond for the last time. Despite saying goodbye and emphasizing that he is “old and frowning”, during a conversation with the Sunday Times, the actor said: “It is one of the most intense and rewarding things I have ever done”.
The world was introduced to Craig as Bond in 007 – Casino Royale (2006). Since then, the actor portrayed the timeless icon in 007 – Quantum of Solace (2008), 007 – Skyfall (2012) and 007 Specter (2015).
