The legal battle between the Texan actress and her ex-husband Johnny Depp, has tarnished the integrity of both as well as their acting careers, however, the Mera interpreter still hopes to return to the DCEU (DC Extended Universe) for ‘Aquaman 2’.
Since it was proven that Heard lied in several testimonies she gave against the Oscar nominee, her popularity went spiralling down, causing DC fans to launch campaigns to demand the resignation of the celebrity from the superhero saga.
Although it could be that the above does not influence Warned at all, since Deadline reported that Amber Heard wants to return for ‘Aquaman 2’ as Mera, after Depp asked that the trials be delayed until after June 2021, considering he has to record the third part of ‘Fantastic Beasts’.
The actress will accept if this does not impact her in the trials, she also indicated that she awaits the start of filming the sequel of the aquatic hero, which means that Warner Bros. is still considering the star for the DCEU. The decision to delay will be made by the representatives of both on September 11.
The fact that WB wants to include Heard is a risky move, being that there are fans who are willing to do everything possible to boycott the film, hurting box office profits, an issue that Hollywood studios is starting to worry about a lot.
At the moment, ‘Aquaman 2’ will hit theaters on December 16, 2022, if the pandemic does not further delay the production recordings.
