After ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Marvel Studios announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 that it was preparing new surprises within its future MCU projects, one of those was that they were going to make a ‘Blade’ reboot. Now according to a new report, it has been revealed that there will also be a female version of the character.

From the little that is known about the new ‘Blade’ project, two-time Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali will headline this new reboot in the MCU. Although due to the pandemic, not much is known about how this new adaptation is progressing, Ali has not hesitated to express in his social networks how excited he is about this project and about the impact that Blade will have in the future of the MCU.

So far, Ali is the only actor that has been officially confirmed which could mean that it will be a while before Blade returns to the big screen. Although all is not lost, Marvel Studios has several release dates throughout 2022 and 2023 undisclosed to date. So we’ll see and find out later what they are.

However, according to the media reports, some sources are saying that relatively soon there will be new information released about the project, and one of them is that KiKi Layne will be the female version of Blade.

Revealing that KiKi Layne is in the works to be the female version of Blade is a clear example of what Marvel Studios wants to start doing by having more heroines in their projects since according to the reports, the possibility that the actress of ‘ The Old Guard ‘ can bring Blade’s daughter Fallon Gray to to the big screen. For now, what we do know is that phase 4 of the MCU will begin with ‘Black Widow’ on November 6 of this year.
