The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will be much more extensive than many have imagined, since it will expand in series and movies. In addition to trying other genres, something we never expected is about to happen within the companies plans, since, according to a report, Marvel is preparing R-rated films.

Films within the R-rated superhero genre have become real box office hits, something very few imagined, in fact, movies like ‘Deadpool’, ‘Logan’ or ‘Joker’ became real hits both with critics and at the box office. Apparently Marvel could risk taking this course for some characters in its franchise.

According to media reports, Marvel is preparing R-rated films. They do not rule out expanding this market, and apparently, the company will not launch this within the Disney platform, but will seek to take them to Star, the next platform that will have content that is not family-oriented, although so far it is unknown which productions are considered for this classification.

Even though, it has not been revealed, it is extremely likely that one of the films which will take this classification is the third installment of Deadpool, and it helps, that it is now, part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Another possible R-rated delivery could be ‘Blade’, to show a darker and more violent style of the vampire.

In addition to these heroes, they could just as well be considering a Daredevil movie, which would mark the return of Charlie Cox to the role, or, The Punisher, now that there has been talk of the return of Jon Bernthal as this antihero after the cancellation of his series on Netflix.
