A viral Instagram video shows how an otter escaped what appeared to be certain death in an Alaskan lake.

The footage that became the most shared on social networks was recorded by John Dornellas (37), who works with Coldwater Alaska, an exploration company that does tours in the mentioned area.

The viral video shows how an otter escaped what appeared to be certain death by climbing into a motor boat and evading an orca that was trying to devour it. The unusual moment was filmed in the middle of the Halibut Cove lake, in Alaska.

Dornellas says that the aquatic mammal frantically swam towards his boat in an attempt to elude the cetacean and, quickly seeked refuge, the otter came aboard from the part where the outboard motors are located.

John freaked out when, moments right after the ortter jumped into his boat, the orca swam to the top of the waters to see where its prey had gone. You can hear the fisherman tell the otter “I’m not gonna hurt you, you can chill up here as long as you like.”
