A prominent cosplayer based in Maine, broke a Guinness World Record when he added 30 fully functional work gadgets to his Batman costume.
Batman fans exist all around the world, and with the next DC Comics superhero movie on the doorstep, there are plenty of people excited to create their own costumes for the Premiere Day or just for leisure and love of the character, like this man who went viral.
Keith Dinsmore, from Portland, said he started dressing up as Batman for comic and pop culture conventions since 2013, and decided to try breaking the Guinness World Record in 2017 after learning Julian Checkley had it, whose cosplay costume included 23 functional devices.
Dinsmore successfully seized the Guinness Record with 30 distinctive and functional mechanisms, including a ball, batarangs, a butane torch, a mini grappling hook, binoculars, and a compass.
It also features a fingerprint kit, a tracking device, a nylon rope, a road flare, a laser pointer, flashbangs, handcuffs, an acetylene cutting torch, and an extendable baton.
Keith said the best part of creating his cosplays is the build process, and that he especially enjoys creating something from the depths of his imagination, in addition to introducing the final product and process to the cosplay community as well, and of course to the Dark Knight fans.
