David Ayer, director of the 2016 Suicide Squad, returned to defend Jared Leto on Twitter. In the DC film, the actor portrayed the Joker.
When the movie hit theaters, Jared Leto’s Joker was heavily criticized by the public. The look and demeanor of the DC villain did not please many fans.
For the DC director, it’s not Jared Leto’s fault. The main culprit responsible for the failure of the villain was the studio itself.
On some occasions, Ayer made it clear that he had another vision for Suicide Squad. However, the film underwent many modifications.
The Suicide Squad director again commented on this when responding to a DC fan who wants Jared Leto again as the Joker. The netizen also believes that the actor was wronged and that he deserved to appear in longer films.
“Jared was pretty mistreated during this. No one has seen his performance. It was ripped out of the movie.” wrote the director.
DC and Jared Leto did not comment on the new statement from the filmmaker.
A new Suicide Squad is in production from DC. What is known is that the Joker, has no involvement with the project.
Although the new DC picture is confirmed, it is not yet clear what the story of the film will be.
