Through a series of images captured from the set of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, we have finally been given and indication of what will happen to the legacy of Captain America. Or at least what will initially happen since the events of Avengers: Endgame.
Although at the end of that movie an old Steve Rogers gave up his shield to Sam Wilson, officially handing over the mantel to continue the work of Captain America, something always comes up to make aspects problematic.
The new leaked images show us the first look at Wyatt Russell, the actor that will have the duty of playing John Walker, who in the comics is known as the US Agent.

A photo portrays him with a military suit and a sling in his hand, but another photo – which takes place in a different scene – shows him wearing a new version of Captain America’s suit.
This is John Walker so that might be the captain America that the government chooses first? pic.twitter.com/PVnDbV9MIW

All this indicates that, although Sam Wilson obtained the shield from Steve Rogers, the United States Government will intervene and raise their own elected. And that seems like it’s going to be John Walker, whos first role in the MCU, is being Captain America.
I like the take on John Walker’s Captain America / US Agent suit. #FalconAndTheWinterSoldier pic.twitter.com/gB3KTsxEls

In the comics, Walker first takes the mantle of the Super Patriot, before replacing Steve Rogers as Captain America when he gives up the shield. Then he takes a variant of the Captain’s suit and in his role as US Agent joins the West Coast Avengers.
