This year marks 35th anniversary of Ghostbusters since it was released in theaters, the saga that got children around the world believing that real ghosts exist and that can also be captured. It was a surprise for fans when months ago they announced the start of the production for the highly anticipated Ghostbusters 3.

This project, which was always in the minds of all those who participated in the first two films, but was never done, among many other reasons because of the enmity that arose between Bill Murray and Harold Ramis after Groundhog Day. However, Jason Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman the director of the originals, has managed to get the project afloat, and he may get all of the original cast in this new installment.

Or at Sigourney Weaver has been confirmed during an interview, whose statements have been picked up by Parade Magazine. “She’s also set to reunite with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the new Ghostbusters, due July 2020.”  “It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again!” exclaimed the actress who did not want to reveal more details except confirming that she will play Dana Barrett again.

So far, the studio has not officially confirmed anything about any other actors who will participate in this new Ghostbuster film. It is expected to have a similar cast to continue exploiting the saga with new, and younger, faces that have the blessing from the Original Ghostbusters.
