The reviews are out with 93% on rottentomatoes.com, Spider-Man Homecoming just might be worth watching. But why should I spend my money on watching yet another version of Spider-Man? Well…
1) According to Spidey himself (Tom Holland) the biggest and most important difference is that “Peter Parker finally has an all-time goal, and his goal is to become an Avenger. Everything he does, even though he’s doing it for the right reasons, is done so that maybe one day he can become an Avenger and prove himself to Tony Stark. And I think we’ve never really seen Spider-Man with that kind of motivation before.”
2) It’s safe to say that another HUGE difference is that Homecoming includes other Superheroes like Ironman, but according to Timeinc.net are references to the Avengers everywhere.
3) Uncle Ben doesn’t die again! As a matter of fact his background isn’t even mentioned. [ABC News]
4) Peter has a best friend; Ned (played by Jacob Batalon), who is more of a side kick in this film, which is different from what James Franco’s Harry Osborn was to Toby’s Spidey. [ABC News]
5) The movie doesn’t center around a love interest. Peter has a crush on high school classmate; Liz Allan (played by Laura Harrier). But he is focused on becoming an Avenger, so she isn’t as important as Mary Jane and Gwen Stacy were. [Vanity Fair]
