The entertainment magazine Variety announces the names of some of the actors who will participate in a prequel to the hit television series Game of Thrones .

The standard bearer of the HBO chain is about to end and the American audiovisual entertainment company does not want to miss the opportunity to extend the experience of this world belonging to the fantastic genre.


According to Variety , the plot unfolds “thousands of years before the Game of Thrones events.” The new program chronicles the descent of the worlds from the golden age from which encompassed some of  the greatest heroes in their darkest hour, and only one thing is certain: from the horrible secrets of the history of Westeros to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the legendary Starks, it is not the story we think we know.

The head of this initiative is Jane Goldman, who co-created this project with the writer George RR Martin, whose series of novels A Song of Ice and Fire is the starting point for the plot of Game of Thrones.

Jane Goldman and Martin will also have the responsibility to be executive producers along with Daniel Zelman, James Farrell, Jim Danger Gray and Vince Gerardis.

One of the actors that will partake in this new project is Josh Whitehouse, who participates these days in the series Poldark ( BBC, United Kingdom ), a drama that takes place during the 18th century.  His films The Happy Worker and Valley Girl, both in the post-production stage, have yet to be released.  There is no information yet on what role he will play.

The next announcement about the first chapter of the new series dedicated to this universe of dragons and giants is Naomi Watts. She is a more experienced actress who has more than 80 experiences, between cinema and television.

Watts was nominated for Óscar in the category of best leading actress in 2004 for “21 Grams,” by Mexican director Alejandro González Iñárritu, and then in 2013 for “The Impossible,” by Spanish filmmaker JA Bayona.
