Twenty-six years have passed since Francis Ford Coppola premiered one of his masterpieces, ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’, a film that brought together Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves, two movie icons from the nineties, on to the big screen. However, the actress still remembers her work in the project because, according to her, she could have accidentally married her co-star while shooting the wedding scene.
“I swear to God I think we’re married in real life,“ Ryder confessed to Entertainment Weekly during the promotion of her new movie, “Destination Wedding,” where she, once again, shares the screen with Reeves. “In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest (…) We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So I think we’re married.“
Ryder says that when they met again on the set of her new feature, she reminded the interpreter that each of them exchanged nuptial vows and said “I do” to the well-known question that precedes the kiss.
“Don’t you remember that? It was Valentine’s Day,” said the actress, to which Reeves replied: “Oh my gosh, we’re married.” Have these celebrities opted to fix their neglected marriage? Probably not, but it would be awesome if we could cross oceans of time to relive this idyllic romance.
In their new film, the actors play Frank and Lindsay, two people who meet on the way to a wedding and soon discover they have a lot in common while hating each other. The film will hit theaters August 31.
