Warner Bros. is developing a film focused on Supergirl , Superman’spopular superhero prima as reported by Deadline. Oren Uziel, known for his work “22 Jump Street” and “The Cloverfield Paradox,” is writing the script.
At the moment there is no producer associated with the project and a woman is expected to be the director, as the studio decided with “Wonder Woman” with Patty Jenkins.
According to the mythology of DC Comics, the character was a teenager when she escaped from the ruined planet Krypton in a ship just like the boy who grew up as Clark Kent / Superman on Earth.
Supergirl has been recently played by actress Melissa Benoist in the television series created by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Allison Adler, which will broadcast its fourth season in October on the CW network.
There is also no official confirmation from Warner Bros. about the possible inclusion of Superman in the film. In recent years, it has been the British Henry Cavill who has embodied the man of tomorrow in “Man of Steel”, “Batman V Superman” and “Justice League.”
The next releases from Warner Bros. affiliated with DC Comics will be ‘Aquaman’(December) and ‘Shazam!’ (April 2019).
‘The Flash” kicks off its filming in February, starring Ezra Miller, directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley.
