Rowling has left Harry Potter behind and is now totally focused on her new character. In fact, she has stated that she expects to write a total of 10 books from this new saga.
According to the publisher Little Brown, it consists of 656 pages and it is the longest book that Rowling has published to date under the pseudonym of Galbraith. The author herself has complained on Twitter that, in a terms of length, it reminded her a lot of “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
It is a mystery novel for the adult public. Its protagonist, Cormoran Strike, is a war veteran who works as a private detective. Despite his injuries (physical and psychological) his experience is vital to solve cases that the police elude or fail to solve.
In this installment, the protagonist must solve a strange case. A young man claims to have witnessed a crime as a child. Although the boy’s story is vague and not very credible, Strike decides to collaborate with him because the boy has sincerity and determination in his words.
The first three novels of the saga, “The Cuckoos Calling” (2013), “The Silkworm” (2014) and “Career of Evil” (2015), have already been adapted to a television format. “Strike” premiered on August 27, 2017 on BBC. With this new release the network hopes to extend the series for 3 more seasons.
